About the jewelry

The gemstones used in my jewelry are handpicked for their beauty and uniqueness. A design may originate from the inspiration of a gemstone or a simple organic shape. My latest pieces are created using a torch to heat-treat copper to the point of achieving stunning color. I call this process "firepainting" which feels to me like painting on canvas, and the colors achieved blow me away. Each piece is designed and handcrafted by me and each one an individual work of wearable art.

About me

While in art school, I felt like I was in heaven. I truly found my calling. I received my BFA from the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School and have stayed true to my fine art passion through painting and the art of jewelry making. I have been fortunate to be able to do so thanks to the support of a wonderful family. The joys of my life are my grown sons and husband of 32 years, Andy Marquis who I am now fortunate enough to work side by side with as he has come on board as my Vice President of Sales and Operations. We travel together exhibiting at Art shows throughout the country.

I am always seeking more knowledge and wanting to push my craft further. I have studied with Master pastelist Albert Handell and wonderful Western NY artists and artisans who are mentors and great friends. I have had the honor of exhibiting my pastel paintings in New England and New York and have been a featured jewelry artist in galleries in Western NY, Annapolis and Easton, MD.

My jewelry has also been featured in the publication "Just Jewelry" by New Art Review, a juried art publication featuring new and emerging talent of 2010, Rochester Magazine, on the cover of Syracuse Wedding Magazine as well as ROC Living and Central New York - The Good Life Magazine representing Skaneateles Artisans.
